About me

I’m a self-taught crafter and enjoy trying out new things. My great-grandmother (great-grand nornie) was a crocheter and made intricate doilies and edging on handkerchiefs and pillowcases. So, as a little girl, I learned the basics of crocheting by watching her. The infamous home-ec class in junior high (middle school now) is where I learned how to sew.  My mom sewed all my childhood Halloween costumes which probably provided me early aspiration.  From making costumes and curtains, sewing and making hundreds of dance costumes, hemming and altering prom and bridesmaid dresses, sewing is by far my longest-sustained craft. I also enjoy wreath making, floral décor, knitting, gardening, wooden signs, and other painted craft projects.

My love for the water along the coastline of Waterford, Connecticut, enticed me to branch out with other home-décor products and explore the use of decorative and expressionable fonts. This is where Craftworks by marseyB begins, naming the business after my daughters. As the introductory product being offered by Craftworks by marseyB, custom buoys are individually handcrafted for each recipient. The first products were custom made and gifted to recipients to celebrate a momentous occasion in their life. Whether it was a new home or the wedding celebration of a new life together, each buoy was custom designed with the recipient(s) in mind.

If you are looking for that perfect gift for someone or to add to your own home, inside or out, consider a custom buoy or home sign.  Check out my portfolio for ideas.
